Coming to concerts this autumn?
Please read this first.
It is of paramount importance that we ensure audiences, musicians and staff are kept safe before, during and after our concerts.
If you purchase tickets for one of our ‘socially distanced’ concerts this autumn, you must read and agree to the full terms and conditions as outlined below.
We have signed up to Visit Britain’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ industry standard for Covid-19 secure events and venues. It means we have to adhere to guidelines put together by Visit Britain in consultation with Public Health England.
These may be reviewed and updated as PHE guidance requires, so please make sure you also check these guidelines again shortly before the event.
Please be aware that:
All tickets will be sold online in advance only (there will not be any tickets available on the door).
You will be required to wear a face-covering for the duration of your time in our concert buildings, in line with Public Health England guidance. Hand-sanitiser and disposable face-masks will be available on the door.
To maximise capacity as best and fairly as we can, you will only be able to purchase tickets in singles and pairs, and you should only purchase tickets to sit together with members of your own household. Please note that due to the limited capacity of these socially distanced concerts, ticket sales are restricted to a maximum of 2 tickets per event, per transaction.
All tickets will be for reserved and numbered seats, and you must sit in the seat for which you purchased a ticket. There will not be any opportunity to move into an alternative seat before, during or after the performance.
All tickets will include a specified arrival time to ensure a sufficiently staggered entry. Please stick to this arrival time as closely as possible, as this will help us to ensure a smooth, safe entry to the building for all ticket-holders. We also ask for your patience at the end of the concert as there will be staggered departures for the same reasons.
We will only be releasing a very limited number of tickets for each performance to ensure adequate social distancing of 2 metres minimum throughout. We will be operating a strict one-way only walk-way throughout the building, and politely request that you cooperate with our staff in adhering to these one-way systems and 2 metre distancing at all times.
We will not be providing printed programmes for our autumn concerts. We will make the notes available online, in advance of the concert, so you can print your own copy or read them before the concert.
Please do not bring any unnecessary belongings with you to concerts. There will be designated spaces under and next to seats for bags and coats. We politely request that you do not use the seats in front or behind you to store things.
There will not be an interval, and refreshments will not be available. Toilets will be open for use before and after the concert on a strictly ‘one person at a time’ basis, with a designated waiting area in the main chapel. This is to minimise the risk to everyone in the building.
We will be conducting infra-red temperature checks on everyone at their point of arrival, including audience, staff and musicians.
Anyone who shows any Covid-19 symptoms, including a raised temperature or cough must stay at home and isolate in line with Public Health England guidelines. If you have a raised temperature at the time of arrival, or are showing signs of a continuous cough, we regret that you will not be permitted into the building under any circumstances.
Full refunds will be available to all bookers unable to attend; you can claim a refund at absolutely any time prior to the concert. Should the concert have to be cancelled for any reason, full refunds will automatically be made to all ticket-holders.
NHS Test and Trace systems require all customers to provide up-to-date contact details at the time of booking. We will only keep this information for Test and Trace purposes and, in line with PHE policies, we will destroy this contact information after 21 days.
Due to the complexity and rapidly changing nature of the pandemic, we reserve the right to update these guidelines, in line with PHE guidance, at any time.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone failing to comply with these terms and conditions.

We are sorry that these new arrangements will limit the numbers of people able to attend our concerts this autumn, and for all the hoops that you may feel like you’ll have to jump through in order to attend. Your safety and that of the musicians is vital, and this does appear to be how we have to live our lives in this ‘new normal’ for now, at least.
However, we feel it is important that we provide these safe performance opportunities to our musicians this autumn, supporting their livelihoods at a time when they really need it, as well as offering you the opportunity to hear them play live music again.
Seating everyone at a suitable social distance means that we have had to reduce audience capacity to less than 20% of a usual full house. This obviously impacts on our box office income, so if you feel able to make a donation on top of your ticket purchase this autumn, or even if you are unable to attend, you will be helping us to ensure we can continue to support our much-loved musicians in this most challenging of times.
