Diana Kurzman’s Legacy
Music in the Round received a grant from Arts Council England in 2013 from a legacy left to them by Diana Kurzman who stipulated that her legacy be used "for the benefit of orchestras and the performance of chamber music and opera." Little is know about Miss Kurzman, or her life, except that she was a keen pianist and a music lover.
To honour her wishes, Music in the Round and Arts Council England agreed a five-year programme of additional activity from 2013-2018, enabling us to present larger chamber groups on tour, including the full forces of Ensemble 360, develop a scheme to support a young string quartet, and attract more high-profile artists to our programme.
Diana Kurzman's love of music will extend beyond her lifetime, and we are grateful for her generosity in allowing us to ensure that others can share the music she cared so much about.
