Join Giddy and hundreds of children from across the city in this fun, informal and interactive concert following the trials and tribulations of a young mountain goat who is scared of heights. Based on the colourful children's book by Jamie Rix and Lynne Chapman* and with specially composed music by Paul Rissmann, the concert tells the tale of facing fears and making friends.
Featuring lots of audience participation and image projections from the story, this concert engages young audiences aged 3 to 7 years in top-quality music-making alongside professional classical musicians and embeds music in children’s everyday learning.
The concert is the final stage in our Giddy Goat Project for Early Years Settings, which also includes an INSET session in advance of the concert for practitioners, comprehensive educational resources and optional in-setting workshops.
This year’s INSET session is on Tuesday 18 September (choice of either 1.30-3pm or 4.30-6pm). This session for all teachers and staff involved in the project, led by narrator Esther Sheridan, will provide training, audio and visual resources, and practical support in how to incorporate Giddy Goat into your setting’s curriculum or everyday activity. Learn the songs, explore cross-curricular activities for EYFS, and develop your skills and confidence in making music.
All settings who book onto this project are encouraged to send one or more staff members to the INSET. Registration costs £60, which covers access to all of our resources and places at the INSET for as many colleagues as you wish to bring. (You can find examples of previous resources here.) Book your places at the training session when booking onto the concert by contacting email@example.com, or call 0114 281 4660.
