Celebrate Beethoven’s 250th anniversary year with some of his monumental pieces for clarinets, oboes, horns and bassoons in the glorious surroundings of Wortley Hall. Beethoven’s Sextet was praised at its premiere as “distinguished by fine melodies and a wealth of new and surprising ideas”, and the Octet is just as lyrical, while Mozart is represented by some of the best-known moments from his opera The Marriage of Figaro.
Come early and take a stroll around the beautiful gardens or join local historian Paul Lafferty in the Lounge at 6.30pm for a talk about the intriguing history of the Hall. After the concert grab a drink at the bar and chat to the musicians of Ensemble 360.
