Schools’ Concerts: Wednesday 2 April, 10.30 and 1.30pm
Music-loving dog and cat, Stan and Mabel, are off to find their neighbour, who’s gone to judge ‘The Best Orchestra in the World’ competition. Little do they know, they’ll be forming an amazing animal orchestra of their own!
Paul Rissmann, Music in the Round’s Children’s Composer in Residence and BASCA British Composers’ Award 2012 winner, has created yet another irresistible piece of music based on the book written and illustrated by Jason Chapman and published by Templar. Following the huge success of Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants, The Chimpanzees of Happytown, and The Lion Who Wanted to Love this new piece, performed by the eleven-piece Ensemble 360 and narrator Polly Ives, will engage and inspire audiences around the UK.
With companion pieces by Rossini, Mozart and Delibes this hour-long concert is a perfect introduction to classical music and features lots of audience participation and illustrated projections.
Families and schools can download the FREE Participation Pack, which contains all the songs and actions from the story alongside activities and games that will help them to prepare for, and get the most out of, the concerts. Also, learn the songs with Polly with our new video!
Recommended for children age 3+.
