Ensemble 360’s double bass player, Laurène Durantel has forged an international reputation as an outstanding player and a passionate advocate for her instrument. As a soloist she not only plays parts written for double bass but also dares to perform any other piece she wants but always with as much care to the original as possible. When taking on parts originally meant for cello, no transposing takes place and she plays the part exactly as written. The singing quality that she achieves with her playing casts new light on her chosen repertoire.

In this engaging recital featuring masterpieces by Biber and Beethoven, Laurène will also reveal another facet of her talents when she joins Tim Horton at the piano for an energetic performance of Wagner’s Overture to Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
