Music in the Round celebrates 10 years of live classical music in Barnsley

Music in the Round presents

Mayor’s Charity Concert with Ensemble 360

Friday 25 November, Emmanuel Church, Barnsley, 7.30pm. Box Office 01226 327 000

This autumn Music in the Round celebrates its 10th anniversary of live classical music in Barnsley with a charity concert performed by our resident musicians Ensemble 360.

The concert programme includes Beethoven’s String Quartet in F and Britten’s haunting Lachrymae based on beautiful songs by the great English composer of the Elizabethan age, John Dowland. Ensemble 360 will also perform one of the most treasured of all chamber music pieces, Schubert’s ‘Trout’ Piano Quintet, which has been voted for as the ‘audience choice’ piece for the concert by regular Music in the Round Barnsley concert-goers.

The Charity Concert will raise funds towards the Mayor of Barnsley’s support for those improving the quality of care for dementia sufferers and raising awareness of best practice care and support.

Councillor Linda Burgess, Mayor of Barnsley said:

“Many thanks to Ensemble 360 for supporting my Dementia Charity with the anniversary concert.  They will be playing one of my favourite pieces, Beethoven’s String Quartet in F, and I do hope as many people as possible will come along to support the Charity and Ensemble 360.”
