Become a Music in the Round Festival Assistant
Music in the Round are looking for three aspiring Festival Assistants to work as part of our team during the Sheffield Chamber Music Festival, running from 11 - 19 May 2018.
This voluntary placement will give three people the chance to gain experience and develop skills in event management, communications, and working with musicians, audience/participants and other volunteers, plus day-to-day running of Festival activity, all to a high professional standard and in a supportive and friendly environment.
As well as concerts given by world-class professional musicians Ensemble 360 and guests in the iconic Crucible Studio and other city venues, the nine-day Festival features workshops, taster sessions, filming, social events, interaction, and displays designed for many different sections of the community.
The three Festival Assistants will each be mentored by a member of our staff, and work with them to run the various elements of the Festival. There are three slightly different roles, each working with a different member of our team, allowing applicants to express interest in the area of activity they have most experience in, or the area they would most like to improve in. Each applicant will be considered for all three roles, but we will take any preferences into account.
These roles are perfect CV material for anyone with an interest in music events and community arts: you’ll work alongside professional artists and colleagues, get free access to all Festival events, and share in the buzz of playing a central, active role in delivering this exciting nationally-renowned event.
Deadline for applications has been extended to midday on Wednesday 18 April. For more information about the roles, and to apply, see our full information pack here.
