String Projects
We lead at least two string projects each year. These include intensive two-day courses, Bring & Play days, and Quartet Masterclasses, and they are open to string players of varying abilities and ages from across South Yorkshire. Events are led by Ensemble 360 or special guest musicians and are in partnership with the Sheffield Music Hub. The repertoire builds links between the concert series and its themes.
Recent successes include a quartet masterclass as part of our Mozart Weekend and a String Day workshop and performance of Daniel Saleeb's The Boy Made of Bread at the Millennium Gallery as part of our 2015 May Festival.
String Projects build links with instrumental teachers in Sheffield, complement Sheffield Music Hub’s strategy by providing activity for one of its extension roles, and enable participants’ friends and families to hear and see Ensemble 360 perform within the local community.
