Age Better in Sheffield with Music in the Round!
16th Oct 2020 10:16
Over the autumn months musicians from Music in the Round will be working in partnership with Age Better in Sheffield to deliver a series of interactive 'mini-gig' sessions. This programme of events will see the musicians work with the over-55 residents in South Yorkshire Housing Association residential settings, with a view to developing further musical activities in the new year with direct input from the participants themselves.
This project will allow residents to enjoy professional music-making in the comfort of their own shared living space, encourage participation in social life, and support their wellbeing at a time when social isolation and vulnerability are more rife than ever. The creative team leading the sessions is made up of Ensemble 360 musicians Ruth Gibson and Naomi Atherton, with support from Ruth Nicholson.
