Verity grew up in rural Scotland, where painting and singing in the open countryside began a lifelong belief in the vital importance of the arts for our wellbeing.
Verity studied History at the University of Cambridge, where she was heavily involved in the student theatre scene. She began her career in theatre marketing, moving around the UK working for numerous organisations including Anvil Arts and Hull Truck Theatre. She worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon for several years before moving to Lancashire and making the move into fundraising and development at The Dukes, Lancaster.
Verity joined Music in the Round in December 2020 and is passionate about the importance of introducing classical music to young children. She spends her spare time with her young son Edward, and singing, writing and knitting at her home in east Lancashire.
