Welcome from pianist Kathryn Stott

“I am so thrilled to be the Guest Curator for this year’s Sheffield Chamber Music Festival!

Ensemble 360 is such an exciting group of musicians, so it has been a real pleasure for me to conjure up programming that I think they will relish performing for you.

This festival will include lots of personal stories, friendships and connections, and with that in mind, I’ve also invited some astonishing guest musicians. I know they are all very excited at the prospect of coming to Sheffield and collaborating with members of Ensemble 360.

Running throughout the festival will be pillars of the chamber music repertoire that we love and treasure. Among these are incredible gems of perhaps less familiar music, which I so much want to share with you. Every piece tells a story in its own right and I really believe you will be swept away on many wonderfully exciting, soulful and exotic musical journeys throughout the festival.

I will be performing too, but equally so much look forward to joining you in the audience, for what I know will be a musical feast.”
