RAVEL La Valse (12′)
RACHMANINOV Suite No.1 Op.5 Fantaisie-tableaux (24′)
WALLEN The Girl in My Alphabet (11′)
STRAVINSKY The Rite of Spring (34′)

A monumental programme of music for two pianos with two world-class artists.

Tim Horton, praised for playing of “exquisite sensitivity and timing” (The Strad), is joined by the “exceptionally talented” (The Independent) Roman Rabinovich for a unique collaboration as part of Roman’s international tour.

They perform Ravel’s glittering, turbulent and increasingly wild waltz, full of swirling dances and Rachmaninov’s Fantaisie-tableaux, a richly contrasting work of melancholy, drama and virtuoso brilliance.

Errollyn Wallen’s classic piece for two pianos, The Girl in My Alphabet, playfully reimagines the language of a jazz standard, before Stravinsky’s revolutionary The Rite of Spring. In the two-piano version of this work, the rhythmic force and orchestral colour of the original are recast on a thrillingly intimate scale.
