Alex McLean
Alex McLean is a musician and independent, UKRI-funded researcher working on pattern-based music, textiles and dance. He has pushed forward the ‘live coding’ approach to algorithmic music over the past two decades, including co-creating the popular live coding environments Strudel and TidalCycles, and the worldwide Algorave movement for algorithmic dance music. He is based in Sheffield where he collaborates on Sheffield Pattern Club and the Alpaca festival of algorithmic patterns.
