Pavel Fischer

Pavel Fischer was born in Zlín, the Czech Republic, in 1965. He completed his studies at both the Prague Conservatoire and Prague Academy. His appointment as the first-ever resident artist at London’s Wigmore Hall led to invitations to major festivals world-wide. Pavel has also worked with outstanding musicians including the Škampa Quartet (leader and co-founder), Josef Suk, and Kathryn Stott. Since 2007 Pavel has been gaining recognition as a composer. His first string quartet “Morava” was commissioned and premiered at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 2008. In 2018 his “Temperaments” premiered in the Dvorak Hall in Prague. In the same year his “Tales from Moravia” were commissioned by and performed at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.
