An intimate journey from the ancient to the contemporary and from the stillness of night into the shining light of day.
As dawn breaks over Samuel Worth Chapel, British-Bengali singer Sohini Alam welcomes the first light with a magical morning raga, before Errollyn Wallen’s All the Blues I See brings strings and flute together in a luminous work.
We revive a beloved Sheffield Chamber Music Festival tradition of sunrise and breakfast concerts, which culminate this year with the UK premiere of George Crumb’s Easter Dawning, whose bells, whispers and shimmering sounds ring out over the new morning.
