Composer, pianist, singer and Master of the King’s Music, Errollyn Wallen is Guest Curator of Sheffield Chamber Music Festival 2027.
“As everyone knows, having one’s cake and eating it too is not always possible, or even recommended, but it is with resolve and great delight that I have brought you not only music which will stop you in your tracks, but a cake-themed concert where you can eat cake.
Curating this year’s Festival has been a fascinating adventure for me personally and my choices for repertoire reflect the extraordinary time in which we live.
There are jewels of chamber music as well as world premieres of astonishing musicological discoveries which will hopefully not only expand the canon but make us consider the historic and sociological forces from which music is born.
It has been a joy working with Music in the Round, Ensemble 360 and all the special guest performers.
